If you find yourself travelling around Australia next year, then no doubt Sydney will be one your top places to explore. Whether you are a local or a tourist alike Sydney is beloved by all and with overseas travel currently banned now is the best time to travel here. Whether it is a stay-cation, re-discovering an old favourite or if you’re visiting for the first time Little National Hotel Sydney should be your go-to place to stay.
Here is my experience staying at Little National Hotel, Sydney…
Little National Hotel, Sydney is the second in a chain of award winning hotels coming out of Canberra. Known for being the leaders in sustainability and luxury style without the luxury price tag it is no wonder everyone is flocking to stay here. Located right above Wynyard Station you are easily connected to Sydneys iconic attractions and only a short walking distance from Sydney Harbour, Barangaroo and Pitt Street Mall where you can explore, eat and shop your heart out.
Although the reception is not on the ground floor checking in is easy! Simply head to the elevator, click the button for reception and hop on in. You can opt to use the kiosk for a contactless entry or head straight to the reception desk where you are met by friendly staff eager to check you in and tell you the best places to see in Sydney.
The rooms at Little National Hotel look small but offer a certain style and luxury that make them both comfortable and spacious. Each room is only the width of car space but feels much bigger, especially when sleeping on the Super King Sized Mattress (by far the comfiest best I have ever slept on).
Love the mattress? Why not purchase one directly through the hotel?
Each room comes equipped with T2 Tea, virtual mini bar, free wifi & movies, Appelles Apothecary & Lab, super king pillows and a super king bed. You will also find a coffee machine, iron, hair dryer and dry cleaning. If you have forgotten anything for your stay you can order it through the iPad in the room and it will be delivered to your door. On the iPad you will also have access to a pillow menu, movies, tv shows and a catalogue of information about Sydney, including; where to eat, explore and wander.
Equipped with a state of the art gym, lounge area and rooftop bar, Little National Hotel has it all. The only thing you won’t find here is a restaurant, which is perfectly fine as this hotel is within a short walking distance of some of Sydney’s best restaurants and dining precincts.
Pro tip: staying on a business trip, why not utilise the Lounge Area where you can plug in, sip on a glass of wine and work away in comfort and style.
The thing that really stood out for me about the hotel was the state of the art technology. Here you will not find buttons on the elevator, you room key will only give you access to Ground, Reception (where you will find the gym), your floor and the Rooftop Bar, simply swipe and select on the touch screen. When you enter the room the curtains automatically open for you upon entry and you will receive a text message about your stay. From here you can use the iPad to control most of the room and order anything you may need to make your stay more comfortable and enjoyable.
The Roof Top Bar
Sydney has no shortage of rooftop bars, each offering their own unique experience from views of the harbour to expensive wine lists, you will be hard pressed to find one that doesn’t suit your evening plans. Personally, I have tried many of them and can honestly say that Little National Hotels rooftop bar is by far my favourite. Equipped with a range of delicious cocktails, a lounge area for those on a work trip or a fire place with lounge chairs where you can sit back and relax after a long day of exploring. With the layout of the bar, even when it is busy you can always find a nice quite spot to sit and relax.
Tip: Try the Doe a Deer Cocktail, it is delicious!
In my opinion
After stay at both Little National Hotel in Sydney and Canberra these boutique hotels are fast becoming my favourite place to stay. There is just something about them I find so comforting, warm and homie. With these Hotels also being environmentally friendly and leaders in sustainability you can find each stay a little less guilt free.
